The Eric Jerardi Band
(from the band's CD review on
music-hills.com)
The Eric Jeradi Band is a power trio out of Dayton, Ohio
consisting of Jerardi on guitar, Curtis Sanford on drums and Jon
Arnold on bass guitar. The trio is joined on the disc by Chuck
Leavell on piano. Leavell's credentials include playing piano and
keyboard for the Rolling Stones, The Black Crowes, The Allman
Brothers, Eric Clapton and George Harrison. This is Jerardi's third
studio album and fifth release overall. With Leavell's help, Jerardi
and his band hope to gain some national attention. Sonically,
Jerardi and his band lay down some powerful Texas blues with dark
overtones not unlike what you might hear on a Robin Trower album.
Jerardi and his mates also wrote all but one of the tunes and
Jerardi vocals on all tracks. While I thoroughly enjoy the guitar
work and driving rhythm patterns on this disc, I must say that they
have been overly emphasized. So much so that the guitar, bass and
drums drowned out the vocals. While they got Leavell and they have
an abundance of talent, they are not likely to garner many new fans
on the basis of this disc. Jerardi should consider a remix with
greater emphsis on his vocals. Perhaps the sixth release will be the
key to success for this trio.
